First Impressions are Lasting Impressions

One thing my mother taught me many years ago still holds true today:  first impressions are lasting impressions. After my appointment this morning, I decided to do something to take care of wonderful me. I had run out of the house looking a hot mess today. And, I still had other appointments scheduled on my calendar.

When I got in the car, I lowered the sun visor so that I could look at my face in the mirror. I was thinking about what I could do to spruce up a little, as it is the holiday season and I was not looking my best. I started to put on a little makeup, but that would temporarily cover my flaws. My skin looked like it had been in a major wind storm. My eyebrows looked wild and bushy. And this wonderful thought popped in my mind of this cute little waxing salon I had visited earlier this year in June.

I remember I had a great experience:  the salon was pretty and charming, the owner made me feel very comfortable, and I was super pleased with the exceptional waxing service I received. I thought about my mother and remember her saying, “first impressions are lasting impressions.”

I was thankful that they could take me in as soon as I arrived. Everything was pretty as I had remembered. The owner greeted me like she knew me. She remembered me from my visit in June.
